NASA Touches Down at the Center for Total Health & Looks to the Future of Mobile Health

It’s been five days of exciting events and meaningful conversations about health data and innovation, and we’re not done yet.  Today at the Center for Total Health, NASA is holding a workshop for invited guests and members of the NASA Human Health and Performance Center.  The subject of the workshop?  “mHealth – Smart Media and Health:  Applications Benefiting Life in Space and on Earth.”  As NASA’s William Gerstenmaier mentioned at Monday’s press conference for the D.C. Health Data and Innovation Week, astronauts in space engage in the ultimate form of telemedicine.

U.S. Chief Technology Officer Todd Park and Kaiser Permanente Executive Vice President/Chief Information Officer, Philip Fasano, are the event’s keynote speakers.  Also featured will be a panel on mobile health apps for space and on earth, six interactive breakout sessions, and mHealth presentations.  The workshop closes with a reception hosted by Wyle.  More information on the program for the invitation-only event can be found on the NHHPC website.

We will be covering the event on Twitter via the hash tag #NASAhealth.  You can watch the tweet stream here on this website in the right margin.
