Partnership for a Healthier America Issues Call for Brilliant, Creative Ideas to End Childhood Obesity

Many times, the solutions to some of the world’s most insurmountable problems can be found in the simple ideas, wisdom, and innovative thinking of everyday people working at the front lines.

That is the inspiration behind the Partnership for a Healthier America’s recent launch of their End Childhood Obesity Innovation Challenge.

Launched on October 18, 2012, the End Childhood Obesity Challenge is inviting anyone with simply good “ideas—not business plans” for ending childhood obesity to enter the challenge. Participants are asked to submit a short video explaining why their solution is “the best solution for America to implement in combating childhood obesity.”

PHA is offering $10,000 to help kick-start the winning idea, as well as expert advice and consultation from senior leaders at StartUp Health, Edelman, and McKinsey & Company to help bring the winning idea to fruition.

PHA was created in 2010 in conjunction with, but independent from, First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” campaign.  The organization works with the private sector to end the childhood obesity crisis within a generation. Kaiser Permanente is a founding partner of PHA.

The deadline for submissions is noon (eastern), Friday, November 16.  To learn more about the End Childhood Obesity challenge, visit the site on Facebook or go to PHA’s website announcement.
