Coming Soon to HIMSS 2012: Care Connectivity Consortium

In April 2011, Geisinger Health System, Kaiser Permanente, Mayo Clinic, Intermountain Healthcare and Group Health Cooperative joined forces to create the Care Connectivity Consortium (CCC). As pioneers in providing electronic health records to their patients, these five organizations share a common mission to use health information exchange to support patient-centered, high-value care for the citizens of this nation.

At the 2012 meeting for the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) held next week in Las Vegas, the CCC will demonstrate the first phase of its health information exchange work. If you’re there, you can check it out in person at the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase, located at booth #11,000 in Hall G, Feb. 21-23.

For those unable to walk through the demo at HIMSS, we’ll be sharing videos about the CCC over the next two days. These first two videos explain what the CCC is, as well as its vision for the future.

Next week, we will be blogging live from HIMSS, sharing information, interviews and videos captured at the conference. Follow along with us online, or if you’re attending the meeting, please stop by the Kaiser Permanente booth and chat with us in person.
