Breastfeeding: A Commitment of Support

Today in Washington, D.C., Kaiser Permanente signed on to join Partnership for a Healthier America to support breastfeeding as a measure of hospital quality and a key strategy in preventing childhood obesity. Studies show that risk of obesity is much lower for children who are breastfed.

The goal of this effort is to work with new mothers in hospitals, their communities and their workplaces to communicate the many benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and child. Kaiser Permanente and Partnership for a Healthier America have produced this two-minute video on the top five things moms should know about breastfeeding.
