Friday, September 23 Live Coverage: Kids and Walking Forum

Every Body Walk! Week comes to a close Friday with a forum on Kids and Walking. Held at the Center for Total Health in Washington, DC, the forum will discuss walkable communities and the economics of walking with thought leaders from Brookings Institute, SmartGrowth America, Save the Children, City Parks Alliance, and Safe Routes to School.  Kaiser Permanente’s Raymond J. Baxter is scheduled to keynote on the topic of childhood obesity, including reflections on the U.N. High-Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases. Closing the event will be a Walking School Bus of 100 first-graders from Gladys Noon Spellman Elementary School — led by none other than the Power Rangers! If you’re in the D.C. area and would like to attend in person, click here for information and registration.
