Improving Primary Care for Patients: The ACHP Reports

ACHP: Improving Primary Care
Yesterday, the Center for Total Health hosted the Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) as it released its latest report: “Strengthening Primary Care for Patients.”

The report outlines efforts by 17 organizations — including Priority Health, UPMC Health Plan and Kaiser Permanente, among others — to innovate and improve primary care practices. This report highlights practices in primary care placing patients at the core, and organizing care around them.

The inspiring panel featured Michael Cropp, MD, president and CEO of Independent Health; Scott Smith, MD, associate medical director of operations for Kaiser Permanente Colorado, and Marci Nielson, Ph.D., CEO of the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative, and was moderated by Kavita Patel, MD, managing director for Clinical Transformation and Delivery, Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform.
