More from IHI Conference: Helping Uninsured Youth

Following up on our earlier post about last month’s IHI meeting, we have a brief interview with Kathy Colbenson, LMFT, Chief Executive Officer of CHRIS Kids in Atlanta, Georgia.

Colbenson was a panelist at Kaiser Permanente’s town hall on how safety net organizations are addressing social determinants of health. After the town hall, we asked Colbenson to elaborate on why this was an important issue to address, especially in terms of how it affects children and youth.

Established in 1981, CHRIS Kids‘ goal is to unlock the potential of Georgia’s children, youth and families through an integrated Family of Services that includes behavioral health, group homes for children in foster care and supportive housing for homeless youth and youth aging out of foster care. For the last few years, Kaiser Permanente has been a proud supporter of CHRIS Kids’ programs.
