Hosted on the Center for Total Health’s virtual event platform, KP International recently presented a customized virtual seminar for a group of Dutch innovators as part of their “digital mission” to the United States.
Guest speakers included Kaiser Permanente leaders:
- Holly Burke, Vice President and Assistant General Counsel,
- Karin Cooke, Director of KP International,
- and Ron Wyatt, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and lead for technology and product support.
The session covered innovation and how new medical technologies are integrated into care delivery at Kaiser Permanente. As members of Kaiser Permanente’s National Product Council, Ms. Burke and Dr. Wyatt covered the multi-faceted process of bringing new medical technologies to the organization. The key question they ask with every new technology: How will this procedure or device add value to patient care?
Following the presentations and discussion, the group was led on a virtual tour of the Center for Total Health which showcases Kaiser Permanente’s achievements and initiatives in research, digital transformation, patient experience, and community health, to name a few areas. Though the Center is currently closed to in-person visitors, many of our exhibits are featured in the virtual tour, which you can take here in a self-guided format.
